Join leading Yoga & Spiritual Teacher Scott Hutchison-McDade for a warm Yin / Restore & Relax 105 mins of self-care. This incredible class combines sacred practices to help down regulate the nervous system, creating a sense of expansiveness and space within the body and can help soothe a busy mind, cultivating inner peace.
This class is a warm class gradually heating the room to around 30C, We use state of the art far infrared red heaters, the heat targets aches and pains helping to ease tension and tightness within the body. Far infrared heat has no visible light or glowing elements and mimics the healing warmth of the sun without any damaging radiation.
Starting with 30 minutes of Yin Yoga, we apply controlled stress to stretch our connective tissue to create space within our bodies. This will be followed by 30 minutes of Restorative Zen Yoga, which focuses on easing physical and emotional tension by down-regulating the parasympathetic nervous system. Finishing with Yoga Nidra (Guided Awareness Practice) to restore a sense of inner and outer equilibrium.
During class, you will be invited to place hot basalt stones on specific energy points on your body to help melt tightness and tension, easing aches and pains and supporting the down-regulation of the parasympathetic nervous system.
What are the benefits of Basalt stones?
Basalt stones come from flowing lava that solidified under immense pressure. The smooth stones embody the energy of fire and the grounding properties of the earth. Basalt stones imitate a radiant, soothing heat.
